Being fee‑assured means that consultation and treatment fees are billed directly to your insurer according to their agreed schedules, with no unexpected charges. The practice team and the hospital billing departments work closely with insurers to ensure authorisations are in place and that your care proceeds smoothly.
If you are unsure about your level of cover or require pre‑authorisation, the practice’s secretary or the hospital team can guide you through the process.
Self-pay patients
Self‑pay patients are very welcome, and all fees are transparent and confirmed in advance. You will be informed of the cost of your initial and follow‑up consultations, either by the practice’s secretary or directly by the hospital.
Self-pay packages for various surgical procedures are available for fixed payments relating to surgeon’s and anaesthetist’s fees, as well as the hospital costs.
What to expect
Your initial consultation is usually carried out face‑to‑face, allowing time for a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history and review of any previous investigations. If appropriate, a physical examination will be performed to help guide diagnosis and treatment planning. After your visit, a comprehensive medical report is prepared summarising the consultation, findings and recommendations. This is sent to you by email, typically within 2–3 working days.
Follow‑up appointments can be arranged either in person or via secure video link, depending on your condition and preference. Remote reviews are offered whenever clinically appropriate to help you avoid unnecessary travel to the hospital while still receiving high‑quality specialist care.
